Borough Utd v Clifton FC

he League campaign started with a tough opener against Brough vets. Weather was decent and the pitch looked perfect and the boys rolled into Thamesmead making sure they didn't make eye contact or engage with the locals!!

Stu Rick and Ed made their normal Superstar entrance after some family drama. Good warm up by Big Mark as he was resting a pulled muscle this week.

Game started and was obvious the oppo were organised but the ball seemed like a hot potato for both sides. Borough took the lead after we switched off for a spell. Changes were made and we seemed to settle more in the game with Nobby chasing his touch Stu giving away standard free kicks and back 4 let each other know how they thing we should defend...Standard Clifton stuff.

Second half started and we didn't get out the blocks stated a bit on the back foot and was nearly caught out when Lomas decided to do a rain dance round the ball as apposed to moving it on.

Good spells of the ball followed but unable to create. Finally got our chance after getting a free kick in the box after a back pass mix up. After Stu having a Henry Pires moment big Scott continued his goal scoring form smashing the ball home. Reevsey made some top top saves to keep us in it and the game finished 1-1.

Tough test and not a bad start. Changing rooms after saw Stu pick up the first off the pitch Wally of the week with a troubled dressing incident. After Reevsey treated his ultimate sweaty nuts with a good seeing too with some deodorant we all enjoyed a beer in the bar.

Lessons learnt. .. * Stay switched on at all times. * Play it simple. * Take our chances. * Reevesy has mad sweaty bollocks. * Don't Fuck with Duncan!!
