Clifton FC v Bexley 1884

So this week took us to bottom of the league Bexley.

All the boys got there on time (apart from Alberto who turned up late straight off the London tour bus!!) In excitement to see midfield enforcer Ed back on the scene!

Changing rooms were buzzing although things could have turned nasty when Scotty put on his new rascal pink laced daisies, with Ed having to hold Dunc back from 2 footing him right there and then while shouting "You fucking poof!!"

Warm up was a bit "Rick" (short) and the pitch was a good size but still showed signs of the joy riders the night before!!

Game kicked off and started pretty even but Bexley soon started to get the upper hand pushing us back into our own half. First real chance for us came from a corner with Hoops using their left back to spring over Len only to head wide. They pushed on and although didn't really create was putting us under pressure. Our next chance came from a good series of passes with Andy crossing the ball to the Skip who volleyed just wide. Soon we had another chance with the Skip this time finding space and just hitting the ball just wide. Game ticked on and with conditions was a bit scrappy. With a Lomas style pass to Hoops they were gifted the ball which resulted to a good header at the far post 1-0 down. This gives us a kick up the arse and we pushed on and after a good free kick for Mark 'Darren Anderton 'Rodgers Len knocked the ball across to Andy who hit the ball goal wards.. the next events are very hard to do justice as can only be described as a strikers instinct. With the ball only inches from clearing the line and their defence rooted to the spot out of nowhere came Rick (who had only come on 10 minutes earlier) he threw everything at the ball pulling shapes like a toddler running into the park!! Bosh 1-1!

Halftime and after playing poor we found ourselves level,a few changes made and we started the second half better apart from Stu trying to break Vinnie Jones' booking record but cutting a fella in half 5 yards outside the box.

Game started to sway our way and after we confirmed to Stu that we played in Orange we started to push them back. With Ed policing the midfield the midfield squeezed on and started to create. Soon it was 2-1 then 3-1 with goals from Rick and Scott after good assists from Stu. They got back in the game a bit as we took our foot off the gas but it didn't stop Reevsey enjoying the afternoon sun watching a bit of rugby and smoking 6 fags! ! In a real mad moment Scott dud something completely out of character and .....passed the ball with his right foot. Soon Mark Rs picked up another little injury..very unlike him too,so formation changed. Soon it was 4-1 with another good move and finish from Andy. In the move that set the Tutu up poor Baz tried whipping the ball up the wing only to catch the ball with his right then kick his own foot #tekkers Another 3 points and we keep the ball rolling.
